An oncology facility designed to provide compassionate, patient-centered cancer care to residents of the West Ashley community in Charleston, South Carolina. Jeff Lewis AIA delivered a healing environment that balances the clinical demands of oncology with the human needs of patients and their families.

Cancer centers carry a responsibility unlike almost any other building type. The patients who walk through their doors are often facing the most difficult moments of their lives, and the environment around them matters deeply. Jeff Lewis AIA approached the West Ashley Cancer Center with that understanding, designing a facility that feels calm, dignified, and genuinely supportive of the healing process. Every spatial decision was made with the patient experience in mind, from the flow of clinical spaces to the quality of natural light throughout the building.
